episode 2: PUSH

this weekend i have been pushed like never before. i was chosen to lead a youth camp. simple? don't judge it. trust me, its preparation, ensuring there are no awkward silences when presenting, and keeping everybody focused. running around is a constant requirement and of course bonding with people you've never met.

i was pushed outside of my personal boundaries and i couldn't have been more challenged. i felt like i was being a cow when i kept telling people to do something. trust me it wasn't fun feeling that way. but at the end of the day someone has to do the job and raise the standard that is there.

because it began on saturday instead of the usual friday evening, it was a challenge to get participants there, because it's so simple for them to shrug it off rather than the committment that the service team has promised. one of them even logically considered to cancel the camp, but we decided to be strong and continue the battle we had began.

9.00 and 2 girls came. you cannot understand the happiness i felt when my dad called my name because now we had a purpose. we had the drive to move forward. with these girls, 3 of their other friends decided to tag along and just stay for a small part of the camp.

that afternoon murderwink was the game everyone was playing in a large circle outside the campsite. met me tell you, tim is one fella who knows how to kill in this game. as the day continued our variety night was full of variety. we had no skits, music or anything prepared. everything was IMPROVISATION.

this is just a snapshot. of course like reality shows much more happened than explained on this blog. this episode was written just because i wanted to prove that if you PUSH, something will happen. you will increase your personal standards, expand your boundaries and of course better yourself as a person.
